Music Under the Stars has been postponed until the people of southeastern New Mexico no longer live under the threat of being exposed to radiation from a nuclear waste reprocessing plant. The information below is history.
On February 15, we decided that we are going to have MUSIC UNDER THE STARS in 2007. This year, we are planning to have it on Saturdays in June, July, and part of August.
Below is a copy of a flyer that was sent out through the Roswell Chamber of Commerce on February 1, 2007.
| The Spring River Valley Band hosted a series of concerts (MUSIC UNDER THE STARS) highlighting local and regional musicians at the NNMI Amphitheater between May and July 2006. Our goal has been to enhance the culture of Roswell by making it a mecca of musical entertainment. We had many excellent musical performances; as good as you could find anywhere. |
| We are considering doing something similar in 2007. Our greatest challenge in 2006 was advertising. If we are able to sufficiently overcome this challenge, Roswell will have MUSIC UNDER THE STARS in 2007. We plan to make a final decision by February 15. If, by February 15, we find that there is a sufficient interest in helping us advertise, we will have MUSIC UNDER THE STARS in 2007. Otherwise, we will look into grants that may make it possible for us to have it starting in 2008 or 2009.
