CONTAMINATION IN CAMP POND AND CAMP WATER WELL FROM CHEMTURA'S GLCC LEAKING TAILBRINE POND, LEAKING INJECTION WELLS, AND LEAKING LANDFILLS

The EPA took some core samples from the Camp Pond Sediment in July 1977. Analysis of these core samples shows detection of Tetrabromobisphenol A (Synonym: 4,4'-ISOPROPYLIDENEDIPHENOL) at 300 ug/Kg or 0.003 ppm.

Tetrabromobisphenol A is a flame retardant made at GLCC-Central.
